Seeking Deeper & Long Lasting Connections

In a digital world where you can truly can have, experience and know anything in a matter of minutes we are feeling further and further dis-removed. I will be the first to say I have an unhealthy relationship with my phone. Often picking it up, seeking something but what? What is it we are all seeking? In my own spiritual practice, I am coming to understand just how importance connection to self is. We seek connection with others, with community, with teachers, guides and healers. But in truth we are looking for that divine mirroring to see ourself better. We are seeking the connection to external sources to validate our internal source.

So what is your internal psyche's scrip? What is the story you repeat over and over then seek external reinforment that it is the truth? Often this story begins in childhood, placed upon us by a parent, guardian, sibling or teacher. In few cases we believe the truth they set upon us and we align to it as our truth but often we continue to align ourselves to the external pressure to be that truth because it is who we were told we are, to find it was never our truth to begin with.

With every interaction we have a choice, a choice to see the ourselves in the light of others or to just simple see them and their light as it is. Do you even realize this? Majority of individual are constantantly comparing a story within them when listening to whomever they are connecting with. It is second nature to just listen and be present. Our natural state is more to compare, fix, or project. Think about our children for a moment, if a parent's first responds is to compare, fix or project their own ideals. Then think of the world of social media where we are filling in lot of blanks as we are only being showed blimps of influencers lives, often blimps wishing to sell you something to better know you. So what is this doing to us on a spiritual level?

Here is the thing I am coming to know, no one can sell you a guide to yourself. Yes there can be tools, and connections that better serve this relationship but ultimately the relationship has to be cultivated by you. We get here with three things, trust, curiosity and belief. Trust that you know who you are deep within. Trust you are on the best serving path to discovering who your soul is. Curiousity to ask deeper questions about the self and the world you are in. Curiousity to try new things, meet people our of your cultural norms, and being curious enough to listen to stories, teaching, and lessons new to you. Lastly we must have some belief. Belief in ourself, and in our psychological development. It is so fascinating how orgin stories, science, and heritage/family belief begin to shape the beliefs and rules that then navigate the soul. What you believe in autimatically shapes the life you will experience. For example if orgin story, family linage all aligned to a belief that risk is bad, and you cannot overcome challenges placed upon you by the cosmos, I gauantee you are less likely to be curious with the world around you, so you interactions would be limited and confined to the world that believes in the same fear. Which in turn aligns the internal narrative futhers. The soul was not intended to be aligned to fear and sufferage. The soul wishes to be expansive. To experience all specturms of life. To embody all of life. To connect. To have connection with the human self.

Having a self practice is the most importance spiritual practice you can ever have. It can be anything you enjoy, as long as it develops a deeper connection to your soul and human self. This profound connection limits the psyche from creating narrations to fill in a void of loneliness. Futher more it develops a strong foundation of self, allowing you to project pure love to others (vs all the other options: feat, anxiety, doubt, ideology) and listen with pure love of a clear, neutral mind. Creating space of true acceptance.
